Reverse Engineering

GS Engineering offers reverse engineering services to our customers. Working with a business partner, GS Engineering can scan a component with white light or with CMM equipment, and quickly create a CAD model of a component.

GS Engineering offers the following design and analysis services:
CAD Modeling
Finite Element Analysis
Dynamic Simulation

Our metallurgists can extract material samples and perform analysis to determine the material make-up, coating compositions, mechanical properties, and any heat treatment.

GS Engineering will then collaborate with the customer to determine accurate performance conditions for the component, and we will then use our design and analysis tools to redesign the component while considering cost, delivery time, tooling and the supply chain.

GS Engineering can deliver a working component, and even test the component in the lab to ensure it meets the failure criteria. GS Engineering will deliver a technical data package that will enable the customer to produce the new products in the future.

With the ATOS white light camera, GS Engineering is able to develop 3D models from a point cloud. This can be used for:

• Targets and scale bars
• Surface prep and final targets
• Point cloud data for 3D model creation
