Metal Matrix Composites
GS Engineering, Inc (GSE) combines research, business partnerships, and its own efforts to bring new developments in the metal matrix composites (MMC) market. This combination brings immense value to the material & process development community. MMC materials bring solutions to the weight-sensitive applications in aerospace, commercial vehicle, and defense industries. With GSEs strengths in design, analysis, and vehicle engineering, your materials will be designed with the market needs in mind.

GSE offers the following ceramics processing services:
Metal Matrix Composites
Aluminum MMC
Magnesium MMC
As the customer, you define the material density & performance characteristics. GS Engineering will test the virtual component with ANSYS analysis software; then will make the ceramic preform of the desired density; will cast the component; and then perform mechanical & metallurgical analysis. Because our engineers are involved in comprehensive engineering projects, GS Engineering’s results have a reputation for practicality and implementation that leads to fast return on investment.
GSE selects the materials & casting partners that are the best for a given application. The preform infiltration (casting) processes vary, as do the material reinforcement chemistry and types (fiber, whisker, particle). GSE has active programs in both aluminum and magnesium MMC. Together with Michigan Technological University, GSE will also perform mechanical & metallurgical analysis and correlate back to the casting process, for a complete product development effort.
