Last year, GS Engineering Inc. of Houghton, MI celebrated its 20th anniversary and has now reached another incredible milestone with the hiring of its 100th employee. The company started with just three full-time employees in 2001 as part of the MTEC SmartZone, focusing on mechanical and electrical engineering services for commercial and military clients. According to Lynn Eliason, President of GS Engineering, “Our success and growth are attributed to our employees who go above and beyond every day developing innovative solutions to meet unique challenges. It’s their knowledge and dedication that demonstrates our commitment to quality and innovation. This has our clients returning time after time.”
This steady yet purposeful growth has resulted in a dynamic and diversified talent base that continues to add services and capabilities including software development, VR simulation, electric vehicle technologies, and systems engineering. “Expansion into new high-tech skill areas has enabled us to evolve from basic design services to larger roles like systems integration for new vehicle platforms and stay current with our clients’ ever-changing needs,” said Jim Vendlinski, who leads the engineering, technology, and innovation aspects of the company.
With exceptionally high demand for product engineering and developmental testing services, GS Engineering is actively pursuing partnerships for specialized technical activity, while carefully evaluating each potential project’s fit to the company’s growth strategies. Targeting moderate growth through 2030, GS Engineering plans to continue bringing new service capabilities online while diversifying the business portfolio with product offerings under the new consumer based Redridge Industries brand.
