HOUGHTON, MICH (November 9, 2020) – GS Engineering was awarded the 2020 TechConnect Defense Innovation Award for its Bridge Launch Technology for Ultra-lightweight Combat Vehicles.

The Ultralight Tactical Bridge (UTB) is a highly mobile gap defeat solution specifically tailored for use with ultralight combat vehicles through rapid deployment capabilities. The launching system has been integrated into the host vehicle and provides gap defeat capabilities – matched to vehicle capabilities unlike traditional bridging equipment, which is larger and slower. The companion bridge module is also lightweight with a 13’ length that provides sufficient capacity for vehicles such as JLTV, GMV, ISV, ATVs, NSCV, as well as many commercial pickup trucks and SUVs.
